Learn More About Available Scholarships

Many scholarships are available to help cover or offset tuition costs.
The Willow School is certified to accept state scholarships even though we are a private school. Below are a few your family may be qualified to receive. These scholarships typically pay all or some portion of tuition.

For information about any of these scholarships, please visit http://www.fldoe.org/schools/school-choice/ or https://www.stepupforstudents.org/

McKay Scholarship – Students with an IEP (Individual Education Plan)

Children who have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) and have been enrolled in a public school for at least one year prior to admittance at The Willow School are eligible to receive funding toward a private school.

These awards are usually more than $5,000 per child. Please keep in mind that many children who have an IEP may need supplementary services such as tutoring or work with other educational specialists. Depending on the award, these costs may be additional.

Florida Tax Credit Scholarships

To expand educational opportunities for children of families that have limited financial resources and to enable children in this state to achieve a greater level of excellence in their education, the Florida Legislature created the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program in 2001. The law provides for state tax credits for contributions to nonprofit scholarship funding organizations, (SFOs). The SFOs then award scholarships to eligible children of low-income families.

Family Empowerment Scholarship

The Family Empowerment Scholarship (FES) Program is one of Florida’s greatest victories for low-income and working-class families, and it is the first of its kind to extend support to middle-income families. Following the 2019 Legislative Session, Governor Ron DeSantis signed SB 7070, which creates the FES Program and provides 18,000 students life-changing education opportunities for academic and career success. The FES Program will provide an educational lifeline to students waiting for an opportunity to find the school that will best work for them and puts more parents in the driver’s seat to determine the best educational environments for their children.

The Gardiner Scholarship Program

The Gardiner Scholarship Program provides eligible students a scholarship that can be used to purchase approved services or products in order to design a customized educational program for the student. Scholarships can be used for specialized services such as speech or occupational therapy, instructional materials, tuition at an eligible private school, contributions to a college prepaid account and more. The program is directly administered by state-approved nonprofit scholarship funding organizations.

The Hope Scholarship

The Hope Scholarship is for students in grades kindergarten through 12 who are enrolled in a Florida public school and have been bullied, harassed, assaulted, threatened and or other violent acts to transfer to another public school or enroll in an approved private school.
