Gina Battle

Gina Battle has lived in Vero Beach since 1999. Before moving to Vero Beach she attended New York University and worked for HBO in New York City. Gina has been involved in numerous successful business ventures and currently is the owner of the premier chocolate shop in Vero Beach named, “Faith, Hope and Chocolate”. Gina's two children have attended this private grade school and she has served on the Board since 2006.

Vickie Colón moved to Vero Beach in December of 2010 from Boulder, Colorado where she was the Development Director for Shining Mountain Waldorf School, a non-profit school.  Prior to that position she was the Event Coordinator at that school.  Originally from Glasford, Illinois, at the age of 19 she was eager to explore her country and took a position as a flight attendant with Northwest Airlink in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  A few years later she accepted a management position with Lancôme Cosmetics in San Diego, California.  Each ensuing year Lancôme advanced her career until she left to start a family with her husband.  The flexibility of his job allowed them the privilege to search coast to coast for the right school, and they eventually found The Willow School, where she is excited to contribute her skills in fund raising and event planning.

David Heuberger has lived in Vero Beach since 2002.  Prior to moving here, he was a research scientist with the University of Florida Fisheries Department and President of Triton Aquaculture, a large scale commercial aquaculture facility located in Gainesville, Fl. David earned a BA from New College and a MS from the University of Florida. He continued at UF as a pre-doctoral fellow studying marine invertebrate physiology. He is currently the business manager of a local medical practice. David has one child who attends the Willow School and is currently in school to become a certified elementary school teacher.

Tom is President and CEO of the Becker Companies which include Becker Tree Farm and Nursery, Becker Groves, Hobe Grove and Becker Research Partners where he has been for 18 years.

Tom is currently on the Board of Directors of Oculina Bank, Eaton National Bank, and Colonial Bank Corp. He is a former Director of Ocean Spray Cranberries and an incoming member of the Board of Directors of the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Locally Tom is a member of the Board of Directors of the Economic Council of Martin County and serves on its executive committee.He is a graduate Duke University and earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Tom has one child who attends The Willow School.

Katie Kirk has lived in Vero Beach since 2003 and is currently the Vice President, Legal for Daland Corporation, a restaurant management company overseeing 100+ restaurants in 14 different states.  Katie has sat on the Government Affairs Committee for the International Pizza Hut Franchise Holders’ Association since 2003. From 1998-2003, Katie served as a Director and Secretary for Seagull Industries for the Disabled in Palm Beach County.  She has also served on several committees at the St. Edward’s School in Vero Beach and was the Entertainment Chairperson for the American Cancer Society’s Cattlebaron’s Ball for several years.  In 2005, Katie, joined the Board of Directors for the Mental Health Association in Indian River County and was elected the Fundraising Chairperson in 2006, where she continued to serve until 2010.  Katie has a 10-year old son who is a Willow school student, and a 13-year old son who also attends school in Vero Beach.

Gwen has been involved in accounting since the mid 1970s and in tax preparation since the early 1990s. She is an IRS enrolled agent and is currently serving over 75 local companies with bookkeeping and tax services. Having three grown children and eight grandchildren, Gwen is an avid believer in the importance of providing quality education for our youth and a staunch supporter of the project-based curriculum offered at this private grade school.

Sharon Seldner has lived in Florida since 1986. She is the owner of Beachland Millworks, a Vero Beach Business that does custom woodworking and cabinetry. Sharon has deep love for all things water: boating, skiing, windsurfing, even including downhill and cross country skiing in the winter. She is also passionate about The Willow School’s mission and works tirelessly in support of our fundraising efforts. Community work is also important to Sharon. Besides the Willow School, she works with Youth on a Mission, going to communities near and far to help the elderly and underprivileged keep their homes and yards in good order, and serves at the local soup kitchens of the Samaritan Center, St Helens and Holy Cross Parishes. She is currently a member of the Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast.
