What it means to be an Accredited School

The Willow School is accredited by Advanc-Ed, the parent organization that encompasses the following accrediting divisions:

  • Southern Association of Colleges & Schools (SACS)

  • The Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (CASI)

  • The North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI)

  • The Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC)

In undergoing the process of accreditation, any school public or private, in Vero Beach or overseas undergoes the same process. It involves:

1. A self-assessment process which invites the school to examine every aspect of its program and includes:

  • Analyzing the school’s mission and vision
  • Examining school policies and procedures
  • Reviewing the communication of the school’s program with families and the larger community
  • Evaluating the school’s educational program, curriculum and data analysis
  • Understanding the school’s commitment to continuous improvement- which is the most important piece to the accreditation process

2. Compiling all of the necessary documentation to share with the Quality Assurance Team (QAR) who visits the school verifying the legitimacy of the school’s program.

3. Hosting the Quality Assurance Team (QAR) for a three day visit to the school.

Willow was found to meet or exceed all the requirements for accreditation.

The school is honored to be in the company of other public and private schools in Vero Beach as well as thousands of schools both nationwide and abroad.
